WRITTEN BY ELAN BUTLER
On the melancholy shores of Boocastle Bay, the Thomas family mourn the disappearance of their beloved daughter, Teddy. Rumours spread fast in a small seaside town and with desperation growing, relationships begin to fall apart. With a musical score that fuzes folk with hip hop, no one can be trusted, not even those in charge.
CLIFFS is a mystical musical written by Elan Butler, prompting many questions about how to deal with grief, whilst openly lacking the answers. With love and disarray rooted at its core, the naive community of Boocastle Bay is centre stage, all learning to deal with grief in their own way. The show has been in development for the past 8 months with guidance from the Leicester Curves playwriting course led by Ben Weatherill.
CLIFFS has shared extracts at The Space Theatre (July 2021) and The Young Actors Theatre (September 2021). Information and development opportunities COMING IN SPRING/SUMMER 2022.
